For the 2011 theater season, the Oakland Community Theater performed “Train to Danger” by John Burkhart. This old fashioned melodrama was set in the 1890’s when Railroad was “king” and villains were really rotten. The classic battle between good and evil took place in the Oakland train station where the journey of Faith, Hope and Charity Pullman, along with their governess, is delayed by repeated breakdowns of the engine.
Will the lovely Pullman sisters ever get to Eugene City? Will the slippery Simon Slickster join forces with Auntie Matilda Moneypincher Pullman to take over the Pullman Railroad Company? Will Tom Truetrack find true love? Answers to these and other intriguing questions will be answered for all who attend.
